Camping time shares

Has anyone ever bought into one of these? Last year when we bought our TT we saw this box to enter and win 40 nights of free camping.. so like the fools we are we signed up and no later then 3 days later we got a call saying we won and that all we had to do is come in to claim our prize and that it would take 3o mins to and hour. Well of course we fell for it and came in and got grilled to buy into Gettysburg battlefield campground who wanted a whopping $6,000 for a membership.. Dh and I were already ticked at their sly way of getting us there under false preten... but in the end I grilled the guy so bad about his so called perks and privilages that he gave in and could not say 1 more word!! Darryl said I made that poor guy bite his tongue and then some. I only grilled him cause I asked if we could use it at Disney (fort Wilderness) (which I already know you can't) and he said that it had been done and it should be no problem. Thats when I slammed him about his flip floppin facts during the whole presentation. Well I still got my 40 free nights but it took over 2 1/2 hours of my time to get it!!

Oh did I mention that the place looked great on the outside but when you tour it in their lovely golf cart it is a DUMP with a great playground and pool!!

Oh well I am still gonna use 2 of my 40 free nights starting at the end of this month!! I hope we drive them nuts!! I don't think they really expect people to use those things after being grilled!!

Never done a camping time share brainwashing. But E and I love doing the regular ones, it is kinda like a sport to us. We go in and count the lies, and misinformations. We love messing with them, making them think we are going to buy, and then busting them on all the crap. Then you count how many times they reduce the price and tell you that this is the last offer, only to be followed by one more, and then another. Our record was 5 last offers in 4 different "exit rooms". We have got $75 cash at one, $50 house of blues GC at one, plus about $100 worth of cool coupons (myrtle beach), free weekend at another, and $100 check for another, but the best was Disney, got fast passes for the day for all three of us!!

We got the fast passes too!! but ours were for 3 days!!! too funny!!! Poor Frank Perez from Disney didnt know what hit him when we started asking questions!!

we did 1 years ago, didn't even realize waht was going on till we got there. when we said no thanks. This guy belittled us about being there for the free stuff and BEING POOR. we walked out and never back to anymore. Never. Ever.

and the free stuff was a 35mm camera that was junk, our DS used it as a toy.

we were younger and more gullable and had a small child with us, we would know exactly what to say now tho.

Heck yeah, $100 bucks for a couple hours, not a bad deal. The ones we got in MB were great, $50 for House of Blues, (great meal) and a whole stack of coupons for free mini golf, go carts, discounts at restaurants, half off for other attractions etc

It is kinda like a sport for us, lets see how far we can go with this guy before he catches on to us.... LOL
